A New Chapter for an Iconic Dale Mabry Property

A familiar property on Dale Mabry Highway is preparing for a major transformation.

ABI is getting ready to begin construction on the former Harley-Davidson building, transforming the existing property into The Performance Lab, a state-of-the-art medical, rehabilitation, and performance facility.

The project will give an established Tampa property an entirely new purpose while creating a modern environment focused on health, recovery, rehabilitation, and performance.

Transforming an Existing Tampa Landmark

Adaptive reuse projects present a unique construction challenge. Rather than starting with an empty site, the project team must work with an existing structure and transform it to accommodate an entirely different use.

For The Performance Lab, that means taking a building once designed around the Harley-Davidson brand and preparing it for a highly specialized healthcare and performance environment.

The transformation will require extensive interior work as the existing space is reconfigured and new building systems, specialized spaces, and finishes are incorporated into the property.

The Transformation Is About to Begin

ABI project signage is now in place along Dale Mabry, marking the first visible sign of what is ahead.

Construction has not yet begun, but soon the existing interior will begin its transformation. Over the coming months, we’ll share the progress as the project moves through demolition, framing and building systems, interior construction, and ultimately completion.

For ABI, the project represents an opportunity to combine extensive commercial renovation experience with the challenge of giving an existing building an entirely new purpose.
