Performance Lab: Piping and Framing

The transformation of the former Harley-Davidson building on Dale Mabry is taking shape as construction progresses on The Performance Lab.

With framing going up and piping and building systems being installed, the interior is beginning to reveal the layout of the new medical, rehabilitation, and performance facility.

Behind the Walls

Some of the most important work on a commercial construction project eventually disappears from view.

The exposed framing, piping, and building systems shown in these progress photos represent extensive planning and coordination. Each component must work together within the building while supporting the requirements of the finished spaces.

This stage also provides a unique look at the craftsmanship behind commercial construction. Before walls are closed and finishes are installed, the complexity of the building is completely visible.

From an Existing Building to a New Purpose

Repurposing the former Harley-Davidson property requires more than simply creating a new interior. The existing building is being transformed to accommodate an entirely different use, with new spaces and systems designed around the needs of The Performance Lab.

As construction continues, much of what is visible today will soon be concealed behind the finished walls and ceilings.
